Willow growing on Scoby Scaur

Over the last five years the Compost Like material (CLO) has been used successfully in a range of independent growing trials undertaken by local universities. In fact very close to the Todhills site at Scoby Scaur there is an extensive trial of Short Rotation Willow Coppicing growing using this material.

The willow growing here is planted in raised beds made up of ParcGro.

ParcGro is made up of:

• one third CLO (this is the compost like output that is made when the digester towers at Parc compost the biodegradable waste in the household bin):
• one third green waste compost: this is made from park and garden clippings collected from local authorities and householders and:
• one third recovered soils and gravel from our aggregates recycling operation.
