The Durham Training Centre was established by Premier in 1995 to provide training for the industry.
The Centre provides training and assessment services covering all aspects of waste operation.
We provide trainng not only to Premier staff but also to local authorities, NHS, prison service, waste management companies and businesses large and small that have a requirement for staff to be trained in waste management and associated disciplines.
We have nine assessors and five internal verifiers who train over 90 candidates a year in a range of NVQ waste operation, waste supervison and waste management qualifications, these include:
- NVQ in Waste Operations at level 2;
- NVQ in Waste Supervision at level 3;
- NVQ in Waste Management at level 4.
We offer over 30 qualifications at these leveles covering landfill, transfer station, treatment, recycling, composting, contaminated land remediation and waste collection.
