Girls’ football in Newton Aycliffe has been given a boost after scoring sponsorship from Premier Waste.
We helped two 7-a-side teams for under 11s and under 12s to reach their goals, as they compete in the Russell Foster Tyne and Wear Youth League League.
Given the strength, quality and depth of the talent available in Newton Aycliffe, two promising squads instead of one were formed in October 2009 under the guidance of head coach, Berni Borsberry, and the girls have been training hard for their first competitive season.
Berni Borsberry, head coach, said: “The aim of the football club is affordable football for all ages, gender and ability but the cost of a new strip does tend to stretch our finances. It was therefore a welcome boost for the girl’s teams when Premier Waste stepped in to purchase our new strip. We hope this is the start of a long friendship between the company and the club”
Adrian Denton, Divisional Director at Premier Waste Management, added: “As a responsible company, we believe that businesses have a duty to be actively involved with the communities in which they operate. That’s why we are supporting youth football in Newton Aycliffe.
“Sport is a great way for young people to learn and enjoy themselves. These two local youth football teams are incredibly dedicated and talented. We are delighted to be able to support them.”
