There are major changes in the Kerb-it kerbside collection scheme.
If you live in:
- Durham City
- Easington
- Sedgefield
- Chester-le-Street
Then your kerbside collection will from 31 March 2008 be done by GreenCycle (http://www.greencycle.co.uk/).
You should have already received communication from your local authority and possibly the GreenCycle collection bags. GreenCycle intend to collect plastic bottle from the kerbside so that means the recycling bag trial is no longer necessary.
Premier would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the Kerb-it collection scheme, you can all feel justifiably proud of the impact you have made on recycling in the area.
Sunderland and Gateshead
If you live in these local authorities the kerbside collection will now be done by the local authority. You will see no major change to the service (other than it will be local authority vehicles and staff collecting the material). For more details check you local authority website:
South Tyneside
Kerb-it is still operating in South Tyneside
If you live in South Tyneside then your Kerb-it service remains unchanged: go here to see more details of the Kerb-it scheme.
