Premier is the largest provider of kerbside recycling services in the North East of England, supplying its unique ‘Kerb-It’ service to residents in Tyne and Wear and County Durham. Premier currently services over 410,000 households in County Durham, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland.

Our recycling operatives collect paper, glass and cans in the dedicated recycling boxes supplied to each household; these are collected on a fortnightly basis. The types of materials which can be collected are detailed below:

Paper – newspapers, magazines, junk mail, white telephone directories, catalogues and all other white and coloured paper
Glass – glass bottles and jars
Cans – steel and aluminium food and drinks cans, and empty aerosol cans.

Once collected the materials are taken one of our four Materials Recycling Facilities throughout the region, and bulked up ready for re-processing.
