Premier is responding to a report commissioned by Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG). The report looked at three methods of waste collection - co-mingled, two-stream and kerbside – and in particular the overall financial, environmental and social impacts associated with each collection system. The National Fraud Authority has published its 2011 report which estimates that fraud is costing the UK over £38 billion a year. With a few of your personal details unscrupulous people can apply for benefits in your name, attempt to open bank accounts and get credit cards. The Home Office have said it had introduced a number of measures to target identity fraud, including better co-ordination in prosecuting fraudsters, more powers to share data about frauds, tougher criminal penalties and increased efforts to raise public awareness to the problem. Premier Waste Management took the gold award for the Corporate Responsibility category at the 2010 PRide awards for public relations work. The award was for our project with Newcastle College 3D design students to raise their awareness of the importance of reuse, recycling and safe disposal. These 16 to 19 year olds were at the first stage of their training to become the architects, product designers and artists of the future (the class has now graduated). Read More

Earlier in the year we had a visit from ITV Fixers, they did some filming at a Premier material recycling facility. They wanted to see how material is sorted out and baled ready to be recycled.
