Kerb-it

Kerb-it is the name of the kerbside recycling service we provide to South Tyneside.

Our recycling operatives collect paper, glass and cans in the dedicated recycling boxes supplied to each household; these are collected on a fortnightly basis. The types of materials which can be collected are detailed below:

• Paper –newspapers, magazines, junk mail, white telephone directories, catalogues and all other white and coloured paper
• Glass –glass bottles and jars
• Cans –steel and aluminium food and drinks cans, and empty aerosol cans.

Once collected the materials are taken one of our four Materials Recycling Facilities throughout the region, and bulked up ready for re-processing.
